Server supports 667MHz Registered ECC DDR2 SDRAM 240-Pin Single/Dual rank kit memory, total of 8 sockets with 2 processors populated [4 Sockets (2 Banks of 2) per processor]; Low Power DIMMs memory. Memory must be purchased and installed in matched pairs for Dual Channel mode. NOTE: * SimpleTech does not support Low Power DIMMs memory at this time. Both DIMM slots in a memory bank must be populated in identical pairs. Processor 1 memory bank A must always be populated. DIMM banks are active only when the corresponding processor socket is populated. If installing only one bank on a processor, populate the bank physically farthest from the processor. If mixing DIMM sizes on the same processor, the largest capacity DIMMs must be populated in the bank physically farthest from the processor. The smallest capacity DIMMs must be populated in the bank physically nearest the processor. Bank interleaving is automatically enabled on a processor node under the following conditions: 1) Four single ranked DIMMs populated per node (4 x 512MB or 4 x 1GB for example) yields 2-way bank interleaving. 2) Two dual ranked DIMMs populated per node (2 x 2GB or 2 x 4GB for example) yields 2-way bank interleaving. 3) Four dual ranked DIMMs populated per node (4 x 2GB for example) yields 4-way bank interleaving. *If single and dual ranked DIMMs are mixed on the same node, bank interleaving will be disabled. *DIMMs must be installed in decreasing capacity with the largest DIMMs installed in the banks furthest away from each processor. |
