System supports 667MHz Registered ECC DDR2 SDRAM 240-Pin Dual Channel mode memory with 4 sockets max up to 16GB of memory per processor memory node; total of 8 sockets max up to 32GB with all four processors are populated (2 nodes per blade chassis); Low-power memory support. Memory must be purchased and installed in matched pairs. NOTE: * Banks must be populated in sequential alphabetic order, starting with DIMM socket 1, bank A. DIMMs must be installed in decreasing capacity with the largest DIMM installed in the banks furthest away from each processor. If single and dual ranked DIMMs are mixed on the same node, bank interleaving will be disabled. A minimum of two DIMMs (1 kit) must be installed per processor. If all four banks on a memory node are populated, the maximum memory clock speed will be 533MHz. If two or fewer banks on a memory node are populated, the maximum memory clock speed will be 667MHz. Each Cell board must have the same quantity of DIMMs. Four single ranked DIMMs populated per node (4x512MB or 4x1GB) yields 2-way bank interleaving. Two dual ranked DIMMs populated per node (2x2GB or 2x4GB) yields 2-way bank interleaving. Four dual ranked DIMMs populated per node (4x2GB or 4x4GB) yields 4-way bank interleaving. |
