System supports 667MHz Registered ECC DDR2 SDRAM 240-Pin single- or dual-ranked modules and maxes up to 32GB with (one-processor configurations) or 64GB with (two-processor configurations) upon the release of the 8GB module when available. Memory must be purchased and installed in matched pairs to take advantage of Dual Channel Mode. Minimum configurations (four DIMMs) must populated sockets A1, A2, B1, and B2. Note: * If 4GB is installed, the recognized memory may be reduced to 3.5GB or less depending on system configuration and memory allocation of 32- or 64-bit. To utilize 4GB or more of memory, this system will need a 64-bit operating system. Memory must be installed in configurations of two, four, or eight DIMMs. The minimum configuration for a two-processor system is four DIMMs. Minimum configurations must occupy the lower-numbered sockets (DIMM 1 and DIMM 2 for a one-processor configuration and also DIMM5 and DIMM6 for a two-processor configuration). |
