Memory must be purchased and installed in matched pairs. Only AMD Opteron 246 or higher supports DDR400 (PC3200) memory. Server consists of 1 memory bank (4 memory sockets) for each CPU socket, therefore, 2 CPUs are required in order to reach the maximum of 16GB with 8 memory sockets. Motherboard supports Chipkill and x4/x8 based memory modules, but these should not be mixed. Chipkill is invoked using x4 Based modules. S2048M3RGK1, S1024M3RGK1, S1024M3RHK1, S512M3RG1PK1, S512M3RH1PK1, are x4 modules. S512M3RGK1, S256M3RGK1, S256M3RHK1 are x8 modules. 512MB Low-profile PC2700 module & PC3200 options will be available soon. Server supports Dual AMD Opteron processors with speeds from 2.0 GHz or faster. Product is a barebone solution. |
