This Mac Pro (4-Core/8-Core) Tower supports two memory riser cards with four Fully Buffered DIMM slots each. With a total of eight DIMM slots up to 32GB of 667MHz ECC Fully Buffered DIMM (FB-DIMM) DDR2 240-Pin memory. Supports two 2.0GHz, 2.66GHz, or 3.0GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5100 Series or two 3.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5300 Series processors. Memory must be purchased and installed in matched pairs for Dual Channel Mode. NOTE: * For best performance this system recommends installation of four or eight identical DIMMs of memory. If using two DIMMs (standard configuration), install one on the top memory card (Memory Riser A) and one on the bottom card (Memory Riser B). If using four DIMMs, install one pair on the top memory card and one pair on the bottom card. If using six DIMMs, install two pairs on the top memory card and one pair on the bottom card. If using all eight DIMMs, install two pairs on the top memory card and two pairs on the bottom card. |
