FlashLink UCS100 Install Notes for Windows 2000 and XP The name of the file that you need to download is UCS100RXP.exe. Once you have downloaded the file to your desktop, follow the instructions below. Before you install the new driver, make sure you uninstall the old driver. To do that, Click on Start ,then All Programs, Look for the USB Card reader and choose the Uninstall option. Double click on the UCS100RXP.exe file that you downloaded to your desktop. Next, click on Unzip. . Next, click on OK. Next, click on Close Next double click on " My Computer " Double click on C: Find the folder called UCS100 and double click on it. Find the file called Setup and double click on it (the icon looks like a CD disk with a small computer in front of it) Then follow the on screen instructions and reboot the computer. When the computer comes back on, plug in the Flashlink. The new hardware wizard will see the Flashlink. Choose the option to let Windows install automatically. Next click on "Continue Anyway" The installation is now complete, double click on the "My Computer" icon to see the new drive letter. If the Windows new hardware wizard does not see the Flashlink when you plug it in, follow the instructions shown below. Right click on the "My Computer" icon Choose " Properties " Next choose " Hardware " Next Click on the " Device Manager" button. Find the entry for the Flashlink towards the bottom. It will be probably in the USB category. Highlight it and Next click on Action (this is a button at the top of the Device Manager Window) Select Uninstall Next click on Action Select "scan for new hardware" Windows will then install the drivers. Make sure that you insert the Smart Media Card into the bottom slot of the UCS100 with Gold contacts facing Up.
