Installaion:
Download file SDPP2K.exe
Double click to extract contents to blank floppy disk.
1) Attach Parallel port device to computer system.
2) Boot Computer.
3) After login screen a "Found New Hardware Wizard" will appear. Click next.
4) The Wizard will ask you a question:
"What do you want the wizard to do?"
"Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)" <- CHOOSE THIS ONE AND CLICK NEXT
5) The next screen will ask
where to look for the drivers.
UNCHECK ALL BOXES EXCEPT "Floppy Disk Drives" INSERT THE FLOPPY DISK
AND CLICK NEXT.
6) The next screen will show
the results of the search:
a:\xxxxxxx.inf
This will show the correct .inf file located at the top of this file.
7) Click Finish to end the Installation Process.
Notes:
Your media (Compact Flash, SmartMedia and Hard Drives) are now seen as a logical drive through "My Computer" and the "Windows Explorer".
You may need to mount and format the card under Windows 2000. This is done two ways:
1)Right Clicking on the Drive letter under "My Computer" and selecting format.
2)Going into the "Control Panel" and double clicking on "Administrative Tools". Next Click on "Computer Management".
On the left hand side click
on the plus sign in front of "Storage" and then "Disk Management".
It will now display all the logical drives (Hard Drives, Removable Drives, Zip
drives etc.)mounted on your computer system.
---!!!!CAUTION!!!!---
It is Critical that you select
the correct "REMOVABLE" volume. The drives will show the
following information:

Capacity

C: Partition Basic FAT32 Healthy
(System) 6.04GB
E: Partition Basic FAT Healthy
(Active) 64MB
Below this will show the Volumes graphically. Select the correct Drive letter,
generally this will be the last drive letter in the list, however pay attention
to the capacity of the drive volume. This should closely match the capacity
of the Compact Flash, SmartMedia or Hard Drive installed into the Simple Technoloy
PhotoReader or Simple Drive Unit.
To Format Right on selected drive letter and click on "FORMAT". This process should not take long at all.
Full installtion is now complete. You can now start using your PhotoReader or
Simple Drive.
